Eastern Green Drake Emerger with Trailing shuck

Emergers:

The emergence of the Eastern Green Drake can happen from mornings to mid afternoon and therefore, is not usually concentrated at any one time. This off and on occurrence lasting from mornings to mid afternoon, is when the Perfect Fly Emerger with Trailing Shuck will be the most effective.

Emerger Presentation:

The emerger, like the nymph pattern, can be fished with a swimming action from the bottom to the surface during the period of a hatch. Use the same weighting, as we described in the discussion about nymphs. This combined with a long eight foot leader and a two foot long 4X tippet. The browns that can be taken can be very large so use the heaviest leader and tippets that will work. However, if the water is clear such as many spring creeks you will not be able to use heavy leaders and tippets.
