Satisfied Troutprostore Customer Loves Rod Holder

It is rewarding to get feedback from our customers both positive as well as constructive comments. I recently received an email from a happy Troutprostore customer who purchased two of the "Hands Free Rod Holders", one for him and one for his fishing buddy. He started with a phone call and asked for assistance to order from Troutprostore so I took the order over the phone.

Squamish River Steely

Allen who is a good friend of Troutprostore bagged this steely on the Squamish River recently. Allen said that he regularly fishes the Squamish River and the Vedder Rivers for coho, chum and the odd chinook.  There's a fair number of Dolly Varden & bull trout in some of the tributary rivers. This nice steely is about to be released to the Squamish River.

Fly Fishing Hall of Fame Induction & Fly Fishing Museum Grand Re-Opening

The Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians 15 miles down the road to Bryson City, NC. Our new location is 210 Main Street, right across from the Swain County Visitor Center. The Grand Opening Celebration is Saturday, September 24 from 1pm – 5pm.  Join us for a double celebration in Bryson City, NC as we welcome the inaugural inductees into the Museum's Hall of Fame. The 2016 inductees include Jim Casada (Communications), Walter Cary (Crafts), Wanda Taylor (Recreation) and Phil Bracewell.

Brook Trout Good News

The Eastern brook trout, which is the state fish in both New Hampshire and Vermont, is getting some good news. The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, (NFWF) has provided a $199,000 grant to help fund 7 dam removal projects that will open 140 miles of cold water tributaries of the Connecticut River. The grant is awarded to the Connecticut River Watershed Council (CRWC) for restoring river habitats for Eastern brook trout.

Effective Flies With Super Hair

A Troutprostore friend of mine uses Bestway Outdoor Unique Hair and Super Hair to tie flies that he uses very succesfuly to fish for false albacore and other large fish. He successfuly uses these synthetic crimped hairs to tie flies to mimick sandeels, bunker, pinfish, squid and silversides. He says  "The pink and chartreuse Unique Hair flies are a flase albacore winner." Here are just two of his flies.
