Eastern Green Drake Dun:

Eastern Green Drake, a very large mayfly, and we offer the Perfect Fly spinner in hook size 8 only. The best part of this hatch will likely be the spinner fall. There is very little similarity between the male and the female spinners so it is necessary to keep both fly patterns in your fly box.

Eastern Green Drake Duns:

As with other drakes, the duns are most vulnerable while they are drying their wings prior to leaving the water. After leaving the water, they flutter around the surface and then fly to the trees and shrubs along the banks of the trout stream where they may be remain for as many as three days before molting. The fishing is at its best during the first day or two after the hatch starts.

Eastern Green Drake Duns Presentation:

Fish with the upstream approach and cast to the slower moving waters like eddies, pockets and heads of pools. It the water is especially still it may be necessary to use a downand across presentation. In any event a leader up to 10 feet in length combined with a 5X or 6X tippet

In slower moving water, a down and across stream presentation may be required. In any
case, longer leaders of eight to ten feet long with two or three, foot long tippets, size 5x or 6x, may be required.
