Maine Vacation

Thu, 10/08/2009 - 15:37 -- jmaslar

After laboring for many hours on the Trout University web site trying to bring the best all around trout fishing information to you, I have taken a much needed vacation and I promised myself that I would ignore trout for the entire week.  Here is a picture of me completely relaxed and enjoying the cooler weather.

We took a trip from Portalnd down to Ognuquit where we had a motel reserved which was a block away from the Marginal Way.  The Marginal Way is a foot path along the Coast and it offers some of the best scenery along the coast.  I could not help but take a few pictures of that beauty.  After a relaxing one mile hike punctuated by rests on several of the many benches along the way, we came down to Perkins Cove.  Perkins Cove is a charming little cove with a foot bridge overlooking the many boats tied up there.

What would a trip to Portland be without a boat tout around Cosco Bay to view some of their spectacular light houses.

We happened to get a great day with a lot of sun and a mild breeze.  Also, we were delighted by the hospitality that we received from the crew.  With their help I was able to get this photo of the Portland Head Lighthouse.

Well that is enough of the musings about vacation, I will now get back to work on trout related matters, but first, I did not completely forget about trout.  I went to Cabela's new store in Scarborough Maine.
